We'll get by with a little help from our friends

Here are some shots that I took for a project at the Danville Kamers (Danville Rooms) in Pretoria. My girlfriend Lelanie works at the rooms as a welfare worker/social worker and asked me to document their afterschool center (afterschool center, does such a word exist?).
Kids living in the rooms, with their often unemployed parents, come to the center to get a cooked meal and get help with their homework. There is also group therapy, ears that are willing to listen to their problems and people who treat them with respect. The project also has yearly camps, bay therapy, ans psychologists on board.
