GQ best dressed 2011

I shot the GQ best dressed awards 2011 last night.

Oscar Pistorius took first prize. Here' a shot of Ryan Botha and Gina Goldsmith and also a shot of the crazy Mika Stefamo.

I just wanted to update with some of my work. The pink book is by Sunel Veldtman who wrote Manage your money, Live your dream. I did the author shot for Tafelberg.
Then you'll see a black and white shot. This was done for Property magazine of designer...oops, i forgot. some famous designer from Joburg. my bad.

Then there's a shot of Elton John when he was in ZA. I shot it for the South African Press Association.

Then you'll find copy that I did for Sashka Rappl from Flamebox Consulting in Switzerland. The website was designed by the rad guys from Soak.


Also you'll see some cocktail shot I did for GQ magazine of Africa Lounge at the State Theater. And then a shot of Fokofpolisiekar that I did years back but just wanted to share again.

Night shot

Dreamgirls at Teatro Montecasino

Hi, I shot this of the cast and crew of the Dreamgirls production that will start showing soon at Teatro at Montecasino. A previous Broadway production it is sure to be a hit.
Both cast and crew were super chill while we shot on a tight schedule.
Leading lady Lindiwe Bungane and leading man Aubrey Poo seemed to jump right into character the moment the lights started flashing.

More Circus

We'll get by with a little help from our friends

Here are some shots that I took for a project at the Danville Kamers (Danville Rooms) in Pretoria. My girlfriend Lelanie works at the rooms as a welfare worker/social worker and asked me to document their afterschool center (afterschool center, does such a word exist?).
Kids living in the rooms, with their often unemployed parents, come to the center to get a cooked meal and get help with their homework. There is also group therapy, ears that are willing to listen to their problems and people who treat them with respect. The project also has yearly camps, bay therapy, ans psychologists on board.
The project is run by a NGO called Eleos. Check them out on www.eleos.co.za
